β›΅ Sailing & Cruise Coverage

  • Recreational sailing is covered, whether in coastal or international waters

  • Cruise ships are covered under the same conditions as other forms of travel

  • If you are operating the vessel yourself, you must hold a valid license, if required by law

🚫 What’s not covered

  • Sailing races and race training

  • Any activity that violates local laws or safety regulations

πŸš‘ Medical Treatment & Emergency Transport

Medical treatment

  • Medical treatment is covered regardless of location

  • You may receive treatment onboard or on land

  • Treatment must be provided by a licensed medical professional and properly documented

Emergency medical transport

  • Covered when the ship is near the coast or docked, and standard emergency services can be used

🚨 Search & Rescue (Important)

Search and rescue operations are not covered.

This means:

  • If you are in deep sea and a special search and rescue team must be dispatched, the rescue operation itself is not covered

  • Medical transport that requires a search & rescue operation is also not covered

There is no fixed nautical mile limit in the policy. The determining factor is whether a search & rescue operation is required.

πŸ“Œ Key takeaway

  • Medical care is covered

  • Emergency transport is covered only when no search & rescue is needed

  • Search & rescue operations are excluded
