Both Genki Native Basic and Genki Native Premium cover any medically necessary treatments for both outpatient and inpatient.

However, there are fundamental differences in getting your costs covered depending if you require treatment while hospitalized or not.

Outpatient:

  • Regular doctor consultations for non-emergency situations.

  • Clinic tests and examinations that don't require an overnight stay at the hospital

  • Regular check-ups and vaccinations

Inpatient:

  • Emergency hospitalization resulting from severe illnesses or accidents

  • Emergency or planned surgeries

  • Planned procedures that require an overnight stay at the hospital

It's important to understand the difference before starting your insurance because the procedure for requesting coverage for your medical costs will be different:

  • You choose the doctor/clinic by yourself (you’re completely free to choose your favorite doctors near you) pay all the expenses upfront, and keep the invoices and medical reports (the documents must include information about the diagnosis, treatment, period of treatment, and cost). After, you can access our Member Center under “Compensation” and follow the instructions to submit a claim for the payment of your medical costs directly to your bank account. Remember, if you have insurance with a deductible the same will be deducted from the total amount of your bills.

  • If you need help finding a doctor at your location or prefer a telemedicine consultation instead of an in-person consultation, we recommend using the Air Doctor app. Air Doctor will allow you to find local doctors in almost all countries in the world to schedule outpatient visits and follow-up examinations and treatment for many different specialties, not only general practitioners. You can also choose to book telemedicine consultations in multiple languages and get prescriptions from local doctors online. The same procedure applies, you pay the invoice first and then file a claim for reimbursement.

Important:

  • Non-emergency outpatient examinations or procedures with a cost of 2.000€ or more should be pre-approved by the insurer at least 5 days in advance.

  • Emergency outpatient procedures, meaning any time-sensitive procedures where you had no chance of contacting the insurer at least 5 days in advance can still be covered without any upfront approval.

  • Inpatient procedures should be always informed to the emergency assistance line (MCI) as soon as possible so they can organize the direct billing with the hospital, either they cost more or less than 2.000€.

You can contact the insurer (Squarelife) for pre-approval at [email protected].

If hospitalization is required:

With Genki Native, if you find yourself in an emergency or accident where you need to stay overnight at the hospital you should ask the hospital to contact our 24/7 hotline so they pay the costs directly to the hospital.

There is no specific network of doctors you need to choose from. You can choose any doctor, clinic, or hospital by yourself. Public or private.

You can find the phone number of our 24/7 hotline and instructions in the Member Center under "Help".

The name of the assistance provider is MCI.

They need the following information ready:

  • Name and date of birth of the insured person

  • Name and phone number of the attending physician/hospital

  • The (suspected) diagnosis

  • Date of the accident or when the illness started

  • Name and phone number of the contact person on site (e.g. you), if there is one

Phone number: +34911599948

(The hospital can also write an email, provide their phone number, and ask for a call back)
