ℹ️ This article describes the current Genki Native conditions (version "1 September 2026"), launched in late September 2026. They apply to customers who started their application once this version was live. If your insurance started earlier, your current conditions stay in place until the start of your new insurance year, when the new conditions are applied automatically. We'll email you before this happens.

Genki Native has no general waiting period. Medical emergencies, accidents, and illnesses can be covered from the first day of your insurance, anywhere in the world. Some specific benefits have their own waiting periods, which start on your insurance Start Date.
📅 Insurance Start Date
You can choose to begin your insurance as early as 7 days after completing your application.
⏳ Benefits With Waiting Periods
🩺 Preventive Care (Premium only)
3 months for checkups, screenings, preventive laboratory tests, and vaccinations
🦷 Dental Care (Premium only)
3 months for checkups, cleaning, root canals, extractions, fillings & periodontics
12 months for bridges, crowns, dentures, implants, inlays & onlays
No waiting period when treatment is required due to an accident proven by a doctor or police report
🤰 Maternity Care (Premium)
12 months for maternity benefits, including childbirth
Life-threatening complications have no waiting period
👓 Vision Aids (Premium)
6 months for frames, lenses & contact lenses
🧠 Mental Health Care
6 months, except in a life-threatening emergency
🇺🇸 USA Coverage
3 months, with no coverage in the USA during this period. Afterward, the USA-specific conditions and limits apply.
🔄 Moving From Earlier Conditions?
If you are moving to the new conditions at the start of your new insurance year, waiting periods apply only to benefits that are new or extended. Waiting periods you have already completed do not start again.
Preventive Care: no new waiting period
Dental checkups, cleaning, endodontics, extractions, fillings, and periodontics: no new waiting period
Dental implants: newly covered, with a 12-month waiting period starting on the date the new conditions take effect for you
USA: your previous USA emergency coverage continues without a waiting period. A 3-month waiting period may apply to USA coverage that goes beyond your previous conditions.
🩺 Pre-existing Conditions
Coverage for pre-existing conditions depends on the outcome of your medical questionnaire. Certain conditions may be excluded, the monthly premium may increase, or your application may be declined.
