ℹ️ This article describes the current Genki Native conditions (version "1 September 2026"), launched in late September 2026. They apply to customers who started their application once this version was live. If your insurance started earlier, your current conditions stay in place until the start of your new insurance year, when the new conditions are applied automatically. We'll email you before this happens.

Genki Native provides worldwide coverage, including in your countries of nationality. The conditions depend on whether you have Genki Native Basic or Premium.
🟩 Genki Native Premium
Full coverage in your countries of nationality, with no time limits and no required breaks.
All benefits apply just as they would in any other country.
🟦 Genki Native Basic
You have full coverage during a visit to your country of nationality when both conditions are met:
✅ The visit lasts no more than 182 days, counted from the day of arrival.
✅ You were outside that country for at least 91 consecutive days immediately before arriving.
The 91 days are based on your actual travel history, not on your insurance start date. If you re-enter the country before completing 91 consecutive days outside, the new arrival does not restart the 182 days. Your previous arrival still counts.
💡 Tip: If you have Genki Native Basic and plan to spend longer periods in your country of nationality, consider Genki Native Premium or additional local coverage.
🌍 Multiple Nationalities
Each country of nationality is treated separately, and the 91 days outside are calculated for each country on its own.
Example: you hold German and Italian nationality and spend 100 days in Italy before visiting Germany. You were outside Germany for more than 91 days, so your visit to Germany is covered under Basic for up to 182 days.
🇺🇸🇨🇦 USA and Canada
USA: the country of nationality rules do not apply. Coverage in the USA is always limited to Medical Emergencies, with specific conditions and limits. See the article USA & Canada Coverage with Genki Native.
Canada: treated like any other country of nationality, with the rules above.

A country of nationality is any country where you are a national.
Genki Native does not use a "home country" setting. The rules are always based on nationality.
