ℹ️ This article describes the current Genki Native conditions (version "1 September 2026"), launched in late September 2026. They apply to customers who started their application once this version was live. If your insurance started earlier, your current conditions stay in place until the start of your new insurance year, when the new conditions are applied automatically. We'll email you before this happens.

🇨🇦 Coverage in Canada
Canada no longer has special coverage restrictions and is treated like any other country:
If Canada is not one of your countries of nationality, you have full coverage there.
If Canada is one of your countries of nationality:
Genki Native Basic: full coverage for up to 182 days from arrival, provided you spent at least 91 consecutive days outside Canada before arriving.
Genki Native Premium: full coverage without a time restriction.
There is also no longer a separate region to select for Canada.
⚠️ Please keep in mind that Genki Native usually does not satisfy the legal requirement to hold health insurance or enroll in a public health plan in your country of residence. If you live in Canada, please check the local requirements that apply to you.
🇺🇸 Coverage in the USA
Coverage in the USA is limited to a Medical Emergency, including eligible follow-up care, Repatriation for Care, and Repatriation of Mortal Remains.
To be covered:
The Medical Emergency must begin within 91 days of your arrival in the USA.
Before arriving, you must have spent at least 91 consecutive days outside the USA.
A 3-month waiting period applies to USA coverage.
Coverage continues until you are Fit to Travel, plus the following 10 days.
Overall USA limit per insurance year:
Genki Native Basic: €250,000
Genki Native Premium: €500,000
Follow-up care after you are Fit to Travel (excluding repatriation):
Genki Native Basic: €12,500 per Medical Emergency
Genki Native Premium: €25,000 per Medical Emergency
These USA conditions apply whether or not the USA is one of your countries of nationality.
US Territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Minor Outlying Islands are not treated as part of the USA.
