Please note that our support cannot provide upfront confirmation or guarantees of coverage. All coverage decisions are made by Squarelife, the insurer and claims manager, after reviewing the full medical documentation submitted through a claim. This is why claims must be processed through the system. π
β What's Covered
Genki Traveler covers new and acute illnesses or accidents that occur during your insurance period and require medically necessary treatment.
π©Ί "Medically necessary" means the treatment is:
β Needed to diagnose or treat your condition β Consistent with your symptoms and diagnosis β The most appropriate level of care β Performed for an appropriate duration
π³ Outpatient Treatment (Doctor Visits, Tests, Procedures)
For outpatient care, you typically pay the costs upfront and then submit a claim for reimbursement. Your invoice must include:
β Your name β Diagnosis β Detailed breakdown of medical services β Treatment costs
β³ Pre-Notification for High-Cost Treatments
If your estimated outpatient costs exceed β¬1,000, you must submit an itemized cost estimate to [email protected] at least 5 days before commencing treatment. If this isn't done, only 50% of the eligible costs will be reimbursed.
This is a pre-notification, not a pre-approval β Squarelife will still assess the final coverage after the claim is submitted with full documentation.
π¨ In Emergencies
For outpatient medical emergencies where you can't notify 5 days in advance, contact Emergency Assistance as soon as possible for a quick response.
π Additional Notes
Coverage confirmation can only be provided once all medical documentation has been reviewed by Squarelife.
Pre-existing conditions and preventive care are not covered. π«
Home country coverage is limited to short-term emergencies only.
