Most International health insurance, such as Genki Resident, will offer an option to add a deductible so each customer can reduce the premium that have to pay each month.
What is a deductible?
The combined total of medical bills within an insurance year must first match the deductible amount before the insurance can cover any medical costs. For example, if you have a 500€ deductible on your health insurance and you have a medical bill for 1,500€, you'll pay the first 500€, and then your insurance will cover the rest. Deductibles can vary, and choosing a higher deductible often means lower monthly payments but more out-of-pocket costs when you need to use your insurance.
With Genki Resident you can choose to have insurance with a 500€ or 1,000€ deductible (applied per calendar year) if you wish to pay a lesser premium, or, you can choose to have insurance without a deductible so any expenses are covered from the first Euro.
