Most Travel health insurance, such as Genki Explorer, will offer an option to add a deductible so each customer can reduce the premium that have to pay each month.
What is a deductible?
A deductible is the amount of money you have to pay out of your pocket before your insurance starts paying for certain expenses. For example, if you have a 50€ deductible on your health insurance and you have a medical bill for 1,500€, you'll pay the first 50€, and then your insurance will cover the rest. Deductibles can vary, and choosing a higher deductible often means lower monthly payments but more out-of-pocket costs when you need to use your insurance.
With Genki Explorer you can choose to have insurance with a 50€ deductible, if you wish for a lower premium, or you can choose to have insurance without any deductible, so any expenses are covered from the first Euro.
