Genki Explorer has an initial 14-day waiting period where coverage is limited to accidents and life-threatening emergencies only.

  • It's possible to skip the waiting period and be covered with all benefits from day one if you have previous insurance covering you up until the start of the insurance with us.

  • That insurance needs to cover you in the country where you are located when you start your insurance with us or where you were staying until then if you start the insurance with us on the same day you start your trip.

  • If you were still in your home country when starting your insurance with us, coverage can't effectively start until you leave your home country. But, by being still in your home country during the insurance start date you will be able to skip the waiting period as soon as you start your trip.

Also, if you're in your home country up until the day your insurance starts and you start your trip on that same day, you can skip the waiting period.

It's important to take note that pregnancy benefits have a 10-month waiting period. This includes all pregnancy-related benefits, including childbirth

This information is visible on the Genki Explorer product page, during the Explorer sign-up process, and in the Consumer Conditions and Product information documents.
