With the Genki Explorer, you can choose a plan with a 50€ deductible, or a plan without any deductible. What's the difference? 🤔
The 50€ deductible is the amount that is not reimbursable out of the total amount of a claim.
For example, given a deductible of €50 and a doctor's bill of €1,000 you would pay €50 and we would pay the remaining €950.
The €50 deductible is applied once per insurance case, not for every bill.
All the bills related to the treatment of the same condition will be attached to the same claim and the €50 deductible is only deducted once out of the full amount of all the bills combined.
If you file a claim with an amount lower than 50€ and you have a plan with a 50€ deductible, that claim will not be reimbursable.
If you choose a plan without a deductible the full amount of a claim is reimbursable.
It's not possible to alter your deductible while your insurance is ongoing.
The solution is to cancel your subscription and start a new one choosing a plan with a different deductible option.
Take very important note that if you are currently undergoing any treatments or if you have any planned treatments or knowledge that you will need treatment in the future, you shouldn't cancel your current insurance simply because those same treatments would not be covered by a new Genki Explorer insurance. They would become pre-existing conditions, which are excluded from coverage.
You can create a new insurance as soon as the cancellation for your current one becomes effective.
The waiting period will not be applied if you re-subscribe right after the cancellation becomes effective.
You can cancel your subscription in the Member Center by scrolling down to "How do I cancel my contract?" and clicking on "Cancel your subscription".
