Your home country for Genki Traveler is defined as the country where you are a citizen or a legal resident on the policy start date, ensuring alignment with your official status at that time.

Genki Traveler is designed for stays abroad, but limited emergency coverage also applies when you visit your home country.

🩺 How it works

  • You must have been outside your home country for at least 4 weeks before returning.

  • Coverage applies only to medical emergencies that start within 6 weeks of your arrival.

  • If your home country is the USA or Canada, the limit depends on your region option:

  • Worldwide (limited in USA/Canada): 7 days emergency-only

  • Worldwide: 6 weeks emergency-only

  • Coverage limits are per country, not shared between the USA and Canada.

  • Coverage limits apply per arrival.- Once selected, your home country cannot be changed during the policy term, and any changes require starting a new policy, which resets any pre-existing condition rules.

πŸš‘ Repatriation

If medically necessary, repatriation to your home country can be arranged and is covered when coordinated by the Emergency Assistance team.

Coverage ends as soon as you arrive in your home country.

πŸ’‘ Tip

Genki Traveler covers emergencies only while in your home country.

  • If you have dual citizenship or residency status, you have the flexibility to select either eligible country for your home country. For example, a Dutch citizen residing in Portugal can choose either the Netherlands or Portugal.

If you plan to stay longer, we recommend having local health insurance for complete protection.
