Yes, you can change your payment card at any time during the subscription. However, currently, it's necessary to use a credit or debit card to keep your subscription running automatically.
You can change your payment card in the Member Center by clicking on "Data", scrolling down to "Payment Card" and next clicking on "Change".
Will the payments be billed automatically?
Yes, both Genki Explorer and Genki Resident payments are billed automatically monthly on the same day of the month corresponding to the same day the insurance first started.
The insurance works as any other online subscription (Netflix, Amazon e.g.) which means the billing is done automatically.
Genki Explorer has a 2-year maximum subscription time. You can cancel the insurance freely after a minimum of 1 month without any extra fees, or you can keep it for a maximum time of 2 years, it's your choice.
Genki Resident has a minimum subscription time of 12 months. You can keep the insurance for your entire life if you wish, or you can cancel it any time free of any extra charges after the minimum period of 1 year.
Why did my payment fail?
The 2 most common reasons for a payment to fail are:
Insufficient funds
Transfer blocked by the issuing bank
It's common for many customers to use a bank account that is not their primary daily account to subscribe to online services, however, it's important to know the day of the month when your monthly cycle renews so you can top up your card to have all the sufficient funds necessary for the payment to be successful.
A payment failure might result in the termination of the insurance by default of payment, so it's important to keep a close track of each payment due date.
It's also common for banks to set security checks for online transfers. Some times those security checks will require further confirmation on the customer's side to be able for the transfer to be completed. It's also possible that the bank sets a transfer limit to a certain amount which can block the payment entirely. The best course of action in such cases is to contact the bank directly so they can lift any limits and security checks for your Genki payments.
